I park my leaf at Cal State Los Angeles just east of downtown regularly. No costs, no drama and there are two charges next to the engineering building installed by Coloumb.
I have the contact name for the person in the department that spearheaded this. PM me for his contact info. They are...
You may not be fully aware of this but the EVSE upgrade that many people here have bought voids the warranty of the level 1 charger. Improvements and hacks done outside the corporate approved systems are really not appropriate for the general public. It may be the case that every one of the...
This is kind of harsh don't you think? They person obviously drove to LAX, flew somewhere and wanted to plug in their car. There are obviously a number of other ways to handle the situation with the charger but they chose to plug their car in at a FREE, PUBLIC and well known charging station...
For a number of reasons my work truck wasn't available today so I was driving the Leaf to get my work done and needed to buy some paint for a project. Stopped by the local place and they asked how I was going to get everything home....
All told, I had 8, 5 gallon paint cans in the Leaf today...
Today's Ecotality press release promises to begin a major installation of 'public' charging stations and the rollout of something like 14,000 stations by year end. I'm not sure how they are going to possibly ramp up that fast but hey, we'll see it when it happens...
I'm feeling a whole lot better about my gamble to NOT pay for the L3 charger connection in my car. I honestly hope that these systems will be built out but I really dislike the vaporware that these companies push and attempt to look 'green' while not actually producing the product.

Total time to update the panels and complete wiring work was about 2.5 weeks.
I pulled the permits for the electrician and he did the...
When I tried to adjust the only option I could change is the GPS fueled one. Would make sense to me that it is the most accurate....
Will hit the manual hard tomorrow morning and sort this out.
Well, I did it. Forgot to plug in my car after a midnight run for some ice cream. Got back home and didn't connect the charger and this morning got into the car with 39% remaining battery...
I tried to find a way to alert me that the car isn't connected to the charger but don't see anything...
Yesterday I noticed that the car clock on the dashboard isn't matching the one in the LCD center display. It looks like I can 'adjust' the LCD display clock to kind of match the one on the dash but why don't they just synchronize by themselves?
Any hot tips on how to improve this?
Before I plug in at night I try to remember to reset the trip odometer. That way, the next day when I drive I have a more realistic sense of how far I've driven and can probably go. I've found that the range meter can be pretty inaccurate and knowing the distance driven has been helpful for...
